From the wooded Erz Mountains, over to London, then Leipzig, Marit's path to Piranha Musik in Berlin included lengthy stop-overs in German language and literature studies as well as in publishing and the booktrade, all the while gaining practical experience in journalism, the music and publishing industries. Just before diving into the Piranha pool in 2004, she cut her teeth at the VUT, the German association of independent music labels.
