Piranhas Out & About * International Music Business
2010 has just begun and the staffers at Piranha World Headquarters are busy jetting about on international music business: Production & Communication Director Jennifer Dautermann dons her C3 Festival Artistic Director hat to participate in a panel discussion on innovative strategies for engaging and expanding audiences for classical, jazz, contemporary and new music during the Association of Arts Presenters Conference on 8 January at the Hilton in New York City; a Piranha strike squad including President Christoph Borkowsky, General Manager Bettina Schasse de Araujo, Distribution & Marketing Manager Marit Ringeis and Copyright, Publishing & PR Honcho Frank Klaffs will be moving and shaking at one of the industry's most important trade fairs, MIDEM, from 24 - 27 January in Cannes; and just a few weeks ago our beloved colleague Frankie traveled to Beirut, Lebanon to mentor a session on "How to run a label" organized by the Lebanese Export Office for the Performing Arts (Leoparts) with support of the local German Goethe Institute.
