The Nubian all-star ensemble Salamat has so far released 4 albums on Piranha Musik. Headed by the musical director and arranger of the Salamat project, percussionist Mahmoud Fadl, the group primarily provides Western listeners with an understanding of the Nubian elements of Egyptian music. Each release features a unique ensemble of Nubian musicians, often megastars in their home countries but unknown to most Western listeners.
