PIRANHA PRESENTS: Mulatu Astatke - the "father of Ethio-Jazz" for a double night show on 23 & 24 April 2018.
After his sold-out concert at Club Gretchen last November, Mulatu Astatke revisits our city for two unique concerts in two different venues;

Mulatu is considered a pioneer of "Ethio-Jazz", a combination of classical jazz, Latin American influences and the traditional music of Ethiopia. He is a percussionist, clarinetist and vibraphonist and has been a talk of the jazz circles since the 1960s. Even today - at the age of 70 - is one of the most influential musicians in Africa.
