BERLIN CALLING! Piranha Picks of the Week - Dancing with the Gods

Thursday 28 SEPTEMBER

Gliding, sparkling guitars, uplifting high spirits and intoxicating rhythms are a few of the trademark characteristics of Highlife - the sing and dance craze that originated from Ghana around a 100 years ago. Pat Thomas is one of Highlife's household names since the late 1970s. He's still on top of his game. He's touring. He's rocking Yaam with his Kwashibu Area Band - shake that thang!

Compared to their old competitors' new beginnings @ Volksbühne, the new age @ Berliner Ensemble came rather noiseless and to good feedback from public and audience alike - amongst others with Albert Camus' "Caligula". After its sold out premiere last week, it's now everybody's turn for the existenzialist heavy weights' version of a politician turned loose cannon - honi soit qui mal y pense

Where: Berliner Ensemble, Bertolt-Brecht-Platz 1, 10117 Berlin // When: 19:30

Guesting on the record as well as in concert: Blixa Bargeld and Black Cracker
