"Drama, Visual Arts, New Music – Open end. … An evening on art and language … in the entire building: on stage, in the auditorium and the foyers" – will it all just be talk? After the preludes @ Tempelhof Airport and the squatting intermezzo by "Staub zu Glitzer", Volksbühne 2.17 has made it to the real opening of its new season, the re-opening of the theater itself with "Samuel Beckett / Tino Sehgal" – a couple of one-act Beckett plays plus some works by Berlin playwright Tino Sehgal. We are very curious!

Without Trikont no German indies, none of the best topical compilations in the world, no Germany as we know it today – and, who knows, maybe not even Piranha / WOMEX!? 50 years ago, Eva Mair–Holmes and Achim Bergmann started Trikont as a book publishing house. 50 years on they're still alive and cookin'. Rockin'. And gettin' hit for it, too, at 74 – would you believe it?

Atmospheric German songs, both intelligent originals and well mastered covers of the likes of Hans Albers, with a regional touch – the Waterkant – and loads of melancholia if not the Blues – Hamburg's Tante Polly are still as much of an insider's tip that they haven't even got the usual plethora of youtube videos capturing their act properly yet. Wrongfully so! An impression:
