Piranha Picks of the Week - Serdar vs. Mutti

Thursday 24 AUGUST

Good ol' Spaßguerilla is what Die Partei has to offer to the approaching elections to Bundestag. One of the central events of their campaign comes with their front-runner Serdar Somuncu's presentation of their programmes at "Die Partei präsentiert – Superstars der Demokratie" - backed up by a heap of live acts, among them notorious Berlin Art Punk singer, actor, writer, restaurant and club operator Volker Hauptvogel and his reanimated combo Mekanik Destrüktiw Komandöh presenting their brandnew album "manifestation"

Piranha trivia of the week:

In 1994, Die Partei's direktkandidat for Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf Lo Graf von Blickensdorf - see him at the beginning of the video above - did the legendary artwork to Salamat's debut release "Mambo El Soudani". Both the visuals and the music are still as catchy as on the record's first day, rediscovery strongly advised! :-)

Friday 25 AUGUST

While the Berlin Philharmonics kick off their conductor Sir Simon Rattle's last season with the orchestra headlining a smash hit of Wiener Klassik - Joseph Haydn's "Die Schöpfung" - the Baltic Sea Philharmonic's "Waterworks" programme goes into "Young Euro Classic's" second week with an emphasis on a more contemporary classic, Philip Glass. His "American Four Seasons" ( 2009 ) and "Aguas da Amazonia" ( 2016 ) follow Georg Friedrich Händel's "Wassermusik" – framed by two more contemporaries, Gene Pritsker and Charles Coleman.

Probably even more than two sides to this coin!
